Paul Dunklee, you were one of our musical brothers, and today we celebrate your passion for all kinds of music and dedicate the rest of our countdown over the coming weeks to your memory.
You were a bright light in a world that often is too dark. You're gone too soon, but know that you brought joy into the lives of everybody you touched.
We love you, and we wish your family the best during this difficult time.

CHUCK'S ALBUM OF THE DAY
The College Dropout (2004)
Why I Love It
Before Kanye West dyed his hair blond and lost his mind, he delivered a phenomenal debut album. This home run established Yeezy as an artist after he gained cred creating beats for the likes of Jay-Z. This record is equal parts funny, infectious, clever and honest. It's an ear worm with a message and the result of a talented artist writing about what he knows best.
"We Don't Care," "Jesus Walks" and "The New Workout Plan."
Kendall on Chuck's Album of the Day
Alright, alright. Now you know why Chuck's here counting them down with me. This is his wheelhouse not mine. That being said, the hardest thing I've had to do in a long time is admit that I like anything that came out of Kanye West's mouth. But ... here we go ... this album is stunningly good.
KENDALL'S ALBUM OF THE DAY
Soul on Fire: The Best of Lavern Baker (1991)
Why I Love It
If you know Lavern Baker's music, there's a good chance you got there the same way I did - via a song called "Jim Dandy." Named one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll, "Jim Dandy" was later covered by the Southern Rock band Black Oak Arkansas, and it became a hit for a second time. All of her best-known work is here, and one listen will make you wonder why Baker isn't a household name like many of her contemporaries.
"Tweedle Day," "Jim Dandy" and "See See Rider"
Chuck on Kendall's Album of the Day
Kendall and I have always loved each other's appreciation for all eras and types of music. I wouldn't have guessed this would have made his list, but it's hard to argue with the selection. I could listen to LaVern Baker's powerful voice all day.
